Always wanted a Vicmarc but couldn't afford it?

I spoke with Victor Verrachia, the owner of Vicmarc, about the economy in
Israel and how most people can't afford a Vicmarc. He told me about the new
lathe that he designed along with a well known Taiwanese manufacturer. It's very
similar to the VL175 but with a Taiwanese price.

The Beaver features 30cm
capacity swing and 50cm between centers with quality cast iron construction
throughout. Precision machining of the headstock, tailstock and tool rest ensure
a lifetime of smooth operation and dependable performance. The Beaver lathe is

The 1 h.p. Vector drive system provides maximum horsepower for even the most
demanding woodturner. Used by Professional Australian woodturners, the Vector
drive has a reputation for performance and reliablility providing high torque
throughout the entire speed range. The Vector variable speed drive system
requires 220v 1 phase power without a ground fault device. You can add a ground
fault device provided it fits into the parameters of the inverter. Also included
is a remote on/off switch that can be moved to any position on the lathe for
convenient operation.
